The Complete Botswana
Chobe National Park, Botswana's first national park established in 1967, spans 4,080 square miles of pristine wilderness in the country's northeast corner. Home to over 120,000 elephants — the largest concentration in Africa — the park's legendary Chobe River attracts staggering herds during the dry season, creating some of the most dramatic wildlife spectacles on Earth.
Just 50 miles from Victoria Falls and accessible by road from Kasane Airport, Chobe offers both iconic riverfront safaris and the remote, predator-rich Savute Marsh in the park's western reaches. From sunset boat cruises on the Chobe River to tracking lions in the Savute, this is Big 5 safari country at its most magnificent and accessible.

Unlike most Botswana safari destinations, Chobe is easily accessible. Kasane Airport receives daily flights from Johannesburg and Maun, and it's just a short road transfer to the riverfront lodges. Victoria Falls is only 85km away.
Dry season (May–Oct) for the most dramatic elephant herds on the river and concentrated game viewing. Green season (Nov–Apr) for lush landscapes, migratory birds, and the Savute zebra migration. Chobe is spectacular year-round.
Chobe pairs perfectly with Victoria Falls (50 miles), the Okavango Delta (1hr flight to Maun), Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe, and the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans — making it the ideal starting or ending point for any Southern Africa safari.
